Dried Ladakh Apricots
Traditional sun-dried whole Ladakh apricots with the pit inside — rustic, chewy and naturally sweet-tart.
What makes them special
Dried Ladakh Apricots are a traditional high-altitude fruit product of Ladakh. Unlike the soft, bright-orange dried apricots commonly seen in supermarkets, these apricots are dried whole with the stone (pit) retained inside. Traditional drying concentrates the fruit's natural flavor and gives it a rustic, naturally wrinkled appearance.
Look
Whole, small and deeply wrinkled, with the pit inside. Their natural color can range from muted orange-brown and reddish-brown to deeper brown depending on the variety, ripeness and drying method. They should look dry and rustic rather than glossy, plump or candied.
Taste
A concentrated apricot flavor with a naturally sweet-tart character and a pleasantly fruity finish.
Texture
Dry, firm and pleasantly chewy rather than soft or syrupy.
Best Enjoyed
As a traditional dried-fruit snack, alongside Kashmiri walnuts and Mamra almonds, in gift assortments, or soaked before use in traditional dishes.
